National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur was originally founded as Regional Institute of Technology in 1960 Later upgraded to National Institute of Technology on 27 December 2002 with the status of Deemed University It is under the control of Ministry of Human Resources Development Government of India, New Delhi, since April 2003 The institute offers B Tech M Tech Ph D M C A and M Sc degrees in various disciplines of Engineering, Sciences and Humanities. Women Institute of Technology Dehradun was established in September 2012 which provides high quality technical education to girl students in developing them into self reliant professionals It is situated in the outskirts of Dun valley, Dehradun and is spread over acres with calm, serene and natural surroundings The institute offers B Tech programs of five disciplines Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Communication Engineering and Computer Science Engineering These undergraduate courses are duly recognized by the State Government and approved by AICTE.
Jamshedpur is a city of the Indian state of Jharkhand. In 1919, Lord Chelmsford named the city Jamshedpur in honour of its founder, Jamshedji Nausherwanji Tata, whose birthday is celebrated on 3 March as Founder's Day. It is also called Steel City, TataNagar or simply Tata. The city is bordered by the rivers Subarnarekha and Kharkai on the north and west parts of the city. It is the most populated city of Jharkhand having people count of approximately 13.5 lakhs. In spite of its high population, Jamshedpur is a highly literate city with literacy rate of over 85%. Jamshedpur is the home of Santhal tribe and their local language is Santhali but their new generation kin are fluent in Hindi and English as well.
